baking soda

Organic shortening, melted
(or coconut oil)

maple syrup

Almond extract

Dark chocolate chips
(we use Enjoy Life)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line cookie sheets with unbleached parchment paper.
Wisk together dry ingredients (except chocolate chips) in a small bowl.
Wisk wet ingredients in a separate, larger bowl.
Add dry to wet ingredients and combine.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Use a small cookie scoop (or overfilled tablespoon) to drop cookies on pan. Use a fork to flatten.
Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Be sure to allow cookies to cool before moving them from the pan. These keep for about a week.
